    How to consider a “whole body” approach to managing your allergies and asthma?

    • Prioritize good sleep and relaxation time.

    • Avoid exposure to the blue light emitted by cellphones, laptops and tablets for 1-2 hours before going to sleep at night. This light suppresses melatonin production, which is an important trigger to the brain that it is time for rest. 
    • Avoid alcohol or caffeine near bedtime at night. Both can disrupt normal sleep pattern.
    • Stick to a routine bedtime, so your body gets adjusted to a schedule. Try not to take excessive naps during the day. 

    Exercise can help reduce airway inflammation:

    • Strength training with light weights or resistance bands can build stamina without much impacting the lungs. Even lifting household goods on the way home from the grocery store can be a good start.
